More Joy: A Mumoir
“Some of the strongest character work I’ve ever seen. This needs to be adapted into a TV series.”

More Joy: A Mumoir is a funny, filthy and tender solo storytelling and character comedy about early motherhood, anxiety and losing yourself. Following a British first-time mum in Los Angeles, the show reframes joy as an act of survival — resonating with anyone who’s ever felt undone.
Developed through a sell-out run at Hollywood Fringe 2025, and multiple Los Angeles previews, the show received a StageCrafts Select Award nomination for highest-earning productions across The StageCrafts theatre group.
Set against the loopy backdrop of LA, the show follows Suz as she grapples with a relentless inner critic who delights in her epic fails. When her toddler accidentally eats mushroom chocolate, chaos ensues, exposing the stark and funny realities of first-time motherhood.
Told through a series of real-life stories in the style of The Moth, the show blends sharp observational humour, vivid character work and moments of surreal absurdity — from postpartum anxiety to puddle-jumping after the rain and accidentally landing in a DJ workshop intended for children.
The show contains adult themes and humour relating to early motherhood and is suitable for audiences aged 16+.
